John was 47 when God called him on December 26, 2012.
He was born in Fort Pierce Hospital on 7th Street August 26, 1965 and was a life-long resident of Fort Pierce.
He was a member of St. Anastasia Church and school. John also had a degree at Ball State University and was a mason for many years.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley McKenzie; father, John D. Austgen; son, John D. Austgen III, 9 years old; sister Tracy Austgen Wilkes of Virginia Beach, VA and 35 uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews in this area. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Ruby Murphy and Harold and Sylvia Austgen and uncle Noel Murphy.
John will be missed and loved by his family and friends.
A Gathering at Haisley Funeral Home will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 5 to 7:00 PM. There will be a Mass held at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Orange Blossom Estates, Ft. Pierce on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 10:00 AM. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service.
