John W. Bracken IV, 61, passed away on April 1, 2018 in Crawfordville, Florida. He was born in Homestead, Florida and raised in Fort Pierce, Florida.
During his youth, John loved to surf and was an exceptional football player. Graduating in 1975 from John Carroll High School in Fort Pierce, he received an associate’s degree from Indian River Community College and then went to Florida State University where he received his undergraduate and a master’s degree in Social Work. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, John provided mental health therapy for individuals, couples, and families in Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin, and Okeechobee counties for over 30 years. Additionally, John coached football at John Carroll High School for many years and was a Civil War reenactor for over 15 years.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jo Bracken. He is survived by his two sons, Andrew Bracken and Tyler Bracken and his wife Hilary; his father Stanley H. Bracken; and his siblings, Kathryn Johanna Rogers, Douglas Bracken and David Bracken.
