John Carl Tarhay, 92, died November 26, 2010, in Fort Pierce, Florida.
John was born in Tarentum, Pennsylvania and was a resident of Fort Pierce since 1976, coming from McClean, Virginia.
He was a purchasing agent for photographic equipment, enjoyed playing golf and baseball, was an avid fisherman, a member of Rotary Club, a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church, served in the US Navy during WWII, received the Pacific Theatre Ribbon, American Theatre Ribbon and the Victory Medal.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Helen Tarhay of Fort Pierce, FL; son and daughter, three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, November 29th, 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Haisley Funeral Home. There will be a Mass celebrated at St. Mark’s Catholic Church on November 29th at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
