John Timothy Chandler
John Timothy Chandler, 78, passed away on December 7, 2023 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Chandler was a lifelong resident of Fort Pierce, Florida and the first baby to be born at the new Family Hospital for base dependents, on the third deck of the Burston.
Tim, or professionally known as John, graduated from Dan McCarty, class of ’63 and was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during Vietnam. He graduated from the University of Florida with his Juris Doctor (JD) degree and was an attorney in Fort Pierce since the late 70’s. He played baseball at Eckerd College and continued his passion for baseball and was the president of Fort Pierce Little League several times. He also coached Mako Soccer and YMCA and volunteered in many kids’ sports leagues that his children and grandchildren were involved in. His children and grandchildren meant everything to him. Tim was also deeply involved with the Community United Methodist Church. Believe it or not, he was an avid gamer before gaming was a thing. He also loved some good karaoke.
Survivors include his daughter, Melissa (Jim) Bendel of Alachua, FL; sons, Matthew (Leeann) Chandler of Fort Pierce, FL, and Jeffrey (Desiree) Chandler of Fort Pierce, FL; sister, Patricia Gray of Fort Pierce, FL; brothers, E. Steve Chandler of Franklin, NC and Danny Chandler of Fort Pierce, FL; grandchildren, Andrew England, Cody England, Robbie Compton, Cameron Bendel, Layton Chandler, Liam Chandler, and Kaylynn Chandler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynne Chandler.
Services: Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. A service will be take place on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at White City Cemetery.
