John D. Cooke Jr, 84, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida passed away May 6, 2018.
John was born on October 10, 1933 to Mr. and Mrs. John D. and Margaret Cooke. On April 22, 1956, John married Ruth Bouchey. He moved to Fort Pierce, Florida in 1970 coming from Dracut, Massachusetts. He settled in Port Saint Lucie, Florida in 2001.
John spent 14 years as a Dairy Farmer in Massachusetts, where he raised cows, dogs and ponies. When he moved to Florida he worked for General Development. John after retiring went back to owning a small farm where he raised a variety of animals including, horses, cows, goats, and birds.
John was a member of the Mason's in Massachusetts and a member of the Moose Lodge and Elks in Port St. Lucie. He was also a Boy Scout leader in Ft. Pierce and a member of First United Methodist Church of Port St. Lucie.
Survivors include wife of 62 years Ruth Cooke of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; daughters, Cindy Reddish of Palm City, Florida, Nancy Dennis of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, Gail Hart and husband Doug of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, Caroline Cooke of Ft. Pierce, Florida, Jaye Bigler and husband Rick of Fort Pierce, Florida; grandchildren, Jeremy Dennis, Tyler Davis, Matthew Hart, Alexis Hart, Cody Hart, and Shannon Messinger; great-grandchildren, Claire Dennis and Reagan Davis; sister, Linda Russell; nephew, Jimmy Herman and niece, Heidi Simbolick. He was predeceased by his sister, Judy McIntosh.
A memorial service will be held by the family at the Haisley Tribute Center on Sunday May 20th at 3pm with a reception to follow.
