Dr. John D. Paul, Jr., 82, died October 31, 2008 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Dr. Paul was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and has lived in Ft. Pierce since 1996 coming from Islamorada, FL.
He was a graduate of Franklin & Marshal College in 1945 and from Jefferson Medical School in 1949. Dr. Paul was a General Practitioner for 10 years and was a GYN Surgical Oncologist for 23 years in Lancaster, PA. He did short term medical missions in Honduras, Belize, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica and Liberia. Dr. Paul was the CEO of the Treasure Coast Chorale and attended First Baptist Church of Vero Beach.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Janet Paul, of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughters, Barbara Kovacs, of Downingtown, PA, Kathleen Phillips, of Ephrata, PA, Jean Wolfe, of New Holland, PA; sons, John D. Paul III and Chris D. Paul, of Lancaster, PA, Thomas K. Paul, of East Petersburg, PA; 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Treasure Coast, 1201 S. E. Indian Street, Stuart, Florida 34997.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 11 AM at the First Baptist Church of Vero Beach. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral & Cremation Services. A guest book may be signed at www.haisleyfuneralhome.com .
