John E. Donahue, P.E., 45, died November 16, 2008 in Homestead, Florida.
Mr. Donahue was born in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania and moved to Port St. Lucie in 1993 coming from West Palm Beach, Florida.
John was the Director of Civil Engineering and Survey Services for Boyle Engineering in Palm City, Florida. He graduated from Oil City High School in Oil City, Pennsylvania, and received his BS in Civil Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He was Vice President of the Florida Engineering Society/Past Region V, Board Member of the Treasure Coast Research & Education Development Authority, Member of the Florida Engineering Foundation, Past Chairman of the Board of the Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County, Past Vice President of Governmental Affairs of the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce, Past Vice Chair of the Port. St. Lucie Code Enforcement Board, 1997 Young Engineer of the Year/Treasure Coast Chapter/Florida Engineering Society, 2004 Engineer of the Year/Treasure Coast Chapter/Florida Engineering Society Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers. He was an avid Penn State, Cleveland Browns and NASCAR fan, enjoyed boating on his Nittany Lion IV, gardening, and being with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Kathleen Donahue of Port St. Lucie, FL; sister, Kathleen Murphy of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; brothers, Michael Donahue of Boynton Beach, FL and Sean Donahue of Stuart, FL; parents, Eileen and Edwin Donahue of Jupiter, FL; many nieces and nephews; and beloved pets, Daytona, Talladega, Indie, Bristol Jr., and Junebug.
