Mr. Vance was born in Porterville, Missouri and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1959 coming from Bakersfield, California.He was a grove foreman for many years in the Treasure Coast area. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He operated the peanut stand for many years at the old Tote-A-Poke Grocery on Okeechobee Road in Ft. Pierce, and he also loved to fish.Survivors include his sons, Jackie & Gene Vance both of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughters, Mickie Jones of St. Cloud, FL, and Linda Smallwood of North Carolina; sisters, Marie Grade and Jeannie Grovez both of Newark, CA; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and he was preceded in death by his brother, Aubrey and sister Bonnie May.
