JOHN J. BASTIANELLI
John J. Bastianelli, 92, died October 7, 2009, in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Bastianelli was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada, and was a resident of Fort Pierce since 1989, coming from Huntington, Long Island, New York.
He served with the US Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theater during WWII and was a certified airplane mechanic. He was a frequent contributor to the Scripps newspaper, was a carpenter and member of the Carpenter’s Union and a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church. He was known for his masterful woodworking craftsmanship.
John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jennie Bastianelli of Fort Pierce, FL; son John J. Bastianelli of Pasadena, CA; daughter, Joyce M. Bean of Houston, TX; sister, Elsie Barbieri of New York City, NY and two grandchildren.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997.
A visitation will be held Sunday October 11, 2009 2-5 PM at Haisley Funeral Home Chapel with a Mass celebrated at St. Anastasia Catholic Church on Monday October 12, 2009 10:00 AM.
