John J. Skuban, 81, died September 7, 2011 at Port St. Lucie Nursing Center in Port Saint Lucie, Florida
Mr. Skuban was born in Dunmore, Pennsylvania and moved to Port St. Lucie in 1992 coming from Levittown, PA.
Prior to retirement he was employed with the U.S. Government Social Security Administration for 18 years and later ran his own home improvement company. He served in the United States Army. He was a member and Cantor of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Byzantine Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus of Ft. Pierce 3rd Degree. He enjoyed golf, music, singing, and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, of 55 years, Eleanor A. Skuban of Port St. Lucie, FL; sons, Michael Skuban of Jupiter Farms, FL and John Skuban of Nashua, NH; daughters, Paulette Skuban of Miami, FL, Kate Wiley of Levittown, PA, and Eileen Frank of Nashua, NH, FL; sister, Sister Mary Grace of Uniontown, PA and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, James Skuban and brothers Andrew and Joseph.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sts. Cyril & Methodius Byzantine Catholic Church, 1002 Bahama Avenue, Fort Pierce, FL 34982.
Services: A Visitation will be held Sunday September 11, 2011 from 2-5 PM the Parastas will be celebrated at 3:00 PM. An Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy will be celebrated Monday September 12, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Byzantine Catholic Church in Ft. Pierce. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service.
