John L. Horton

John L. Horton, 89, died February 11, 2007 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.Mr. Horton was born in Wray, Georgia and moved to Ft. Pierce, Florida in 1932 coming from Blackshear, Georgia.He worked for Paramount Laundry, Fort Pierce then St. Lucie County School Board for 12 years at Lawnwood stadium & ball fields. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of Parkview Baptist Church, Fort Pierce.Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Helen Horton of Ft. Pierce, FL; son & daughter-in-law, Larry & Barbara Horton of Port St. Lucie, FL; grandsons, John Horton of Ft. Pierce, FL and David Horton of Port St. Lucie, FL; granddaughter, Peggy Sue Roberts of Fort Pierce, FL; great-grandchildren, Lindsie Horton, Lauren Horton and Joy Lynn Roberts; he was preceded in death by his son, Danny Horton and granddaughter, Debbie Horton.Memorial contributions may be made to Parkview Baptist Church, 403 Hayes Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34950, or to the Treasure Coast Hospices, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997.
