John L. Thompson, Sr.

John L. “Jack” Thompson, Sr., 77, died November 8, 2008 in Ft. Pierce, FL.

Mr. Thompson was born in Medford, Massachusetts and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1958 coming from Gloucester, Massachusetts.

He was a member and an usher of St. Anastasia Catholic Church, Veteran of the U.S. Army Paratrooper Unit, former Board Member of White City Cemetery Association, 3rd Degree of the Knights of Columbus #3416, Ft. Pierce, FL, volunteer firefighter in the 60’s for Ft. Pierce, St. Lucie County Fire District, and a member of the Telephone Pioneer Association.

Survivors include his wife, Janet M. Thompson of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie & Art Crouse of Port St. Lucie, FL; daughter, Diane M. Thompson of Port St. Lucie, FL; brothers, Benjamin Thompson of New Hampshire and Paul Thompson of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Ryan J. Crouse of San Diego, CA, Brandy L. and Jason Thompson both of South Carolina and Chad W. Crouse of Port St. Lucie, FL; great-grandson, Cole Crouse of Port St. Lucie, FL. He was preceded in death by his son, John L. “Larry” Thompson, Jr., and brother, Robert Thompson.

Services: Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2008 from 5-8 PM with a wake service at 6:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 14, 2008 at 10:00 AM at St. Anastasia Catholic Church. Burial will follow at White City Cemetery with full military honors. A reception will follow at Haisley Funeral Home’s Family Center.
