John Lewis Knowles, 92, died October 17, 2011 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Knowles was born in Long Island, Bahamas to the late John and Mary Brice Knowles. He was a former resident of Connecticut and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1987.
He finished all grade school in Long Island, Bahamas and worked on a ship as a deck hand in the Bahamas. He then went on to work at Ferro Corp. in Connecticut for over 35 years as a machine operator.
Left to cherish his memories are, his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Knowles of Ft. Pierce, FL; sons, John Knowles of Oviedo, FL and Leon Knowles of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughter, Azzalee Edwards of Waterbury, CT; brother, Carl Knowles of Nassau, Bahamas; sister-in-law, Flora Morris of Ft. Pierce, FL; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Services: A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home.
