Dr. John E. Mauldin, or “Jake” to his friends, 67, of Fort Pierce, Florida, passed away at home on May 8, 2017 after a long illness.
John was born in Texarkana, Arkansas on Christmas day, 12/25/1949. He graduated from Edgewood (MD) High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor’s degree from Frostburg (MD) State University and a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. John was married to Alexandra (Sandy) Pietrewicz for 35 years.
Dr. Mauldin was a Psychologist throughout the Treasure Coast area for 32 years. He was an avid cyclist and had an encyclopedic knowledge of rock music. Above all, he loved spending time with his family at their home by the beach.
John is survived by his wife, Sandy; sons, Sean, John, and Eddie Mauldin; daughter-in law- Allison (wife of Sean), and grandson James. Also surviving him are his mother, Frances Virginia Mauldin, and sister, Freddie Dare DeRose. John was preceded in death by his father, WWII veteran Homer Eugene Mauldin.
