John P. Smith, Jr.

April 16, 1920 — October 2, 2004

He was born in South Charleston, West Virginia. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a defender and survivor of the Pearl Harbor attack in 1941.
He graduated from the West Virginia Institute of Technology and was married to Mary Jane Rowan on 11/5/1949.He came to Ft. Pierce, Florida in 1962. He was employed at the Henry D. King municipal power plant as an instrument technician and later would be Superintendent of the Power Production for Fort Pierce Utilities Authority.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Smith, and his brother, Henry Gerald Smith.
He is survived by his sisters, Marceline Louise Halsted and Mary Frances Sweet; son & daughter-in-law, Jack & Carolyn Smith; grandchildren, Leslie Glae Parker & Eric Parker.
