John was born in Huntington Station, Long Island, NY on October 12, 1953.
He was the youngest of seven children.
In 1969, his parents moved to Fort Pierce. John remained on Long Island to finish high school. In 1970 when his father became ill, John moved to Florida to help his mother. He was a great help and was able to finish high school in Fort Pierce.
John’s warm, friendly personality helped him make many friends. John soon expressed an in interest in the theater and about 50 years ago he and a group of friends formed the Pineapple Playhouse Community Theater in Fort Pierce. This theater was appealing to the community and quickly became very popular.
Many plays were produced over the years and John had many acting roles. He earned many awards for his contributions in directing, producing and acting talents. Being part of developing the Pineapple Playhouse Community Theater was a great joy to John and his wife, Diane Smith, who died on July 19, 2010. Both worked diligently to make the playhouse the wonderful success it turned out to be!
John will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
We thank you John for being the wonderful person you always were.
