John Robert Rohm, 84, of Fort Pierce, FL, died on June 30, 2007. He was born in Gapsville, PA and moved here in 1967, coming from Breezewood, PA.
He was a teacher, retiring after 25 years in the Indian River County School System. He was Chairman of the Democratic Party in Bedford County, Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Lions Club. He ran for Congress in 1966 for the 12th Congressional District in Pennsylvania. He served in the US Army during WWII and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Community United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife 62 years, Mildred Rohm of Fort Pierce, his daughter, Patricia Short of Waynesboro, PA, his sons, Ronald and John Rohm, both of Fort Pierce, 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.Memorial contributions may be made to the Community United Methodist Church, 3114 Okeechobee Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34947.
Friends may call on Friday, July 6, 2007 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, at Haisley Funeral Home, with Rev. Edna Kate Jacobs officiating. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM. Entombment will be in Riverview Memorial Park.
