Mr. Schafer was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and moved to Port St. Lucie in 1987 coming from Columbus, Georgia.He was a 1st Sergeant (Retired) in the U.S. Army.Survivors include his daughter, Kimberly Pettengill of Hendersonville, NC; and 6 grandchildren.
