He was a resident of Fort Myers for the past 10 years but had lived most of his life in Fort Pierce, FL. He was employed for the past 5 years at Air Science in Fort Myers, he previously worked in construction.
He is survived by his children, Cameron P. Shaffer, Leslie (Rodger) Young and Bryan Shaffer and sister Pamela Pitts Welch of Port St. Lucie, FL. Brothers Kenneth A. Shaffer of Dandridge, TN, Charles D. Shaffer of Fort Myers, FL and Shane H. Shaffer of Fort Pierce, FL and Father Charles H. Shaffer of Port Saint Lucie, FL. He was preceded in death by his mother Carole Lynn Newton and Brother Kevin Lynn Shaffer.
