John T. Britcher, 81, died December 19, 2008 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Britcher was born in Schenectady, New York and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1983 coming from Ticonderoga, New York.
John was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church, Teacher in the New York School System for 25 years and was a volunteer driver for the St. Lucie County Veterans Service Office. He was a disabled Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Betty M. Britcher of Ft. Pierce, FL; sons, Thomas Britcher of Vero Beach, FL and Michael Britcher of Ft. Pierce, FL; brothers, James Britcher of Ft. Pierce, FL and ED Britcher of Ft. Pierce, FL; and 2 grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Lucie County Veterans Services, 2300 Virginia Avenue, Fort Pierce, FL 34982.
Services: Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2008 from 4-6 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anastasia Catholic Church on Monday, December 22, 2008 at 9:30 AM. Further Services will be conducted at South Florida VA National Cemetery, Lake Worth, Florida with full military honors.
