It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of John William Dunn, who left this world on January 19, 2025, 7 short months after the passing of his beloved wife, Linda M. Tabbi-Dunn. Born on August 7, 1960, in Boston, Massachusetts, John was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend who touched the lives of so many with his humor, kindness, and infectious smile.
John and Linda shared an incredible love story, married on September 10, 1987, and building a life together that spanned nearly 40 years. Together, they raised two resilient children, Jason Dunn and Ashley Dunn, who carry forward their parents’ legacy of strength, love, and compassion.
John was also the cherished brother of Jeanne Dunn, Theresa Carroll, and Laurie Martin Benitez, and the beloved brother of the late Francis “Franky” Dunn. He was the son of the late Francis X. Dunn and Jayne P. Dunn, whose values shaped the remarkable man he became.
John was a hardworking and dedicated man who pursued his passions throughout his life. He ran his own painting business before venturing into the amusement business, where he brought joy and excitement to countless people. Always one to make others smile, John embraced his role as “Mr. Bubbles”, a certified clown who delighted children with balloon animals and endless laughter.
Later in life, John worked at Boston College High School as a custodian, where his humor and warm personality continued to brighten the days of everyone around him. Whether in his work, family, or community, John had an unparalleled ability to bring joy to others.
John was known for his big heart, love of music, and zest for life. He was a source of unconditional love and laughter to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memory will forever be cherished.
A celebration of John’s life will be announced at a later date. In honor of John’s legacy, the family asks that you take a moment to make someone smile today, just as John did every day.
Rest in peace, John. You and Linda are together once again, bringing light and laughter to the heavens above.
