John J. White Jr, 75, of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away peacefully May 2, 2023 after fighting the good fight.
Jay was born September 13, 1947 in Pennsylvania.
Ten years, he fought, now it’s time to take his beloved Bear fishing. All JJ asked, was that he and Bear be put in the Gulf Stream so they could fish together forever. Fearless and faithful, Bear would find the bait fish and bark, alerting surrounding boats so they could encircle “Daddy’s Dawg Too.”
Jay or JJ, as he liked to be called, is survived by his wife of 27 years, Mary., as she tells it, “his last wife,” his son, John III and daughter-in-law, Melinda; daughter, Mauryne; sisters, Sallyann, and Elinore and brother-in-law, Dave. He will be greatly missed by his six grandchildren, four great-granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews. JJ had many good friends, even a few that didn’t fish, that will miss his good humor and fish stories.
Jay and his beloved Bear will be cremated together, before joining the Gulf Stream in a private family event.
In lieu of flowers donations to honor Jay’s memory maybe made to a favorite charity, FAU Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute at 5600 N Highway 1 Ft. Pierce, FL 34951 or Treasure Coast Hospice at 5000 Dunn Road Ft. Pierce, FL 34981.
