John Wilson Collins, Jr., 89, died May 2, 2009 in Vero Beach, Florida.
Mr. Collins was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1947.
He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII and retired from Harbor Federal Bank after 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, Sally (Sarah) Collins of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughters, Mary Catherine McAteer of Clearwater, FL, Teresa Brown of Ft. Pierce, FL, and Linda S. Culver of Toledo, OH; sons, Daniel F. Collins of Ft. Pierce, FL, Stephen T. Collins of Palm City, FL, Rodney A. Anderson of St. Louis, MO, and Jeff T. Anderson of Louisville, KY; 16 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, John W. Collins, III.
Services: Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2009 from 5-7 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 8, 2009 at 10:00 AM at St. Anastasia Catholic Church. Burial will follow at White City Cemetery with Military Honors.
