John Benson (Ben) Yount

March 4, 1981 — February 11, 2023

John Benson (Ben) Yount of Port St. Lucie was born March 4, 1981 in Vero Beach, Florida and died February 11, 2023. He worked for many years as a boat builder, and at the time of his death worked for Absolute Interior Fashions as a sub-contractor for Home Depot installing window treatments.

Ben graduated from St. Andrew’s Episcopal School and Lincoln Park Academy and remained close to many of his childhood friends. He loved sports, especially his beloved Kansas City Chiefs (Thank you for winning for Ben!). He loved the outdoors, learning new things, and in recent years had become an avid gardener.

Ben is survived by his wife, Christie Yount; parents, John Yount and Rebecca (Rob) Burgess; children, Heidie Yount, Axl Yount, Lance Bianchini, and Daniella Bianchini; sisters, Rachel Fletcher and Laura Yount; and many other cherished relatives. In marrying Christie, Ben truly gained an additional family with whom he was extremely close.

Even as a child, Ben prayed whenever he heard an ambulance siren. In his death he saved many lives by his decision to be an organ and tissue donor.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the ICU staff at St. Mary’s Hospital in West Palm Beach for their excellent and tender care.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Fort Pierce at 10:00 AM.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ben’s honor to debra of America to benefit individuals and families with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).
