Jose Andres Alvarez Sr. was born February 4th 1925 in Havana, Cuba to Manuel Alvarez and Eluteria Cid-Ponce de Leon. He married Dulce Maria Paradoa in 1957 after immigrating to America. They met for the first time at the airport in New York—it was love at first sight. During their 57 happy years of marriage, Jose and Dulce were blessed with two children: Jose Jr. and Camila. His first son from a previous marriage, Rolando, passed away in 1959 while his second son, Jose Jr., passed away in 2007. When Jose rejoined his sons on December 25th, 2013, he left behind his loving wife, Dulce, and daughter, Camila.
