Jose Angel Vega Reyes

Jose Angel Vega Reyes, 79, Port St. Lucie, FL, passed away at home with his wife and children by his side on February 5, 2024. He had battled lung cancer for four years.

Jose was born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, to Gregorio Vega and Rufina Reyes. He moved to New York City in 1968. He met his wife, Isabel Cuevas in 1970 in Hoboken, New Jersey and married in 1972. He later moved to Florida with his wife in 2007.

Jose is survived by his wife of 51 years, Isabel Cuevas; daughters Grisel Cortes (Carmelo Cortes), Yolanda Vega (Adam Burg), and son Jose Angel Vega Jr (Micaela Miguel); grandchildren Kayla Cortes, Teresa Cortes, Jonathan Herrera Jr, Leilani Herrera, Jose Angel Vega III, Carmelo Vega, Joanna Vega, and Isabela Vega; great-grandson Noah W. Borgelat; brothers Manuel Vega, Carmelo Vega, and sister Zoraida Rivera; and many nieces and nephews.

A gathering will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 3PM to 6PM with a Memorial Service to begin at 4PM at the Haisley Tribute Center 2041 SW Bayshore Blvd Port St. Lucie, FL 34984.
