Joseph Branston passed away peacefully on April 15, 2018.
Joseph was born on May 13, 1937 in Bridgend, Scotland to William and Mary Branston.
Upon completion of his certificate in Carpentry and Joinery from Stow College, Joseph immigrated to the United States at the age of 20. Joseph became an US citizen and enlisted in the United States Army and served his country for three years.
Joseph married Trudy Watts and settled in Toms River, NJ and raised their family.
Joe was employed for over 40 years as a carpenter and builder. Joe worked for Jayeff Construction as supervisor before retiring in 2002. Joe loved to spend his free time with his family and also doing any building and home improvement projects for family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Trudy Branston; daughters, Melissa Stevens and husband, Greg Stevens of Barnegat, NJ, Gerry Branston of Palm City, FL and Wendy Flynn and husband, David Flynn of Plymouth, MA; four grandsons, RJ, Gregory, Christopher and Joseph and five granddaughters, Caitlyn, Jenna, Keira, Amanda and Kaylee; several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, June 2nd at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Barnegat, NJ.
