JOSEPH FRANK CORSO
(September 16, 1916 – May 28, 2014)
Mr. Joseph Frank Corso, age 97, of Murphy, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, following an extended illness. Joseph was born on September 16, 1916, the son of the late Frank and Teresa Corso in Lodi, NJ. He was the oldest of seven children, one brother, Frank Corso and one sister, Ann Wiggins are still living. He was married to Mae Pedevil for forty-nine years when she passed. They had four children, Frank Corso, Jo Anne Thompson, Theresa Heise and Mary Anne Parnell, eleven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
He was of the Catholic Faith and an active member of St. Williams Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for seventy-one years and a past master of the fourth degree in the State of Florida. He was a Boy Scout leader for forty-four years and a veteran of the US Army Signal Corps of WWII.
Surviving Mr. Corso are his loving wife of twenty-four years, Betty Corso of Murphy, NC; one son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Sharon Corso of Orlando, FL; three daughters and sons-in-law, JoAnne and John Thompson of Knoxville, TN, Theresa (Herman, deceased) Heise of Ft. Pierce, FL and Mary Anne and Rick Parnell of Orlando, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Maria Corso of NJ; sister, Ann Wiggins of Florida; fifteen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at 10:30 AM at St. Williams Catholic Church in Murphy, NC, with Father George and Father Alex officiating.
