Joseph John Galante, 85, passed away in his sleep at Indian River Hospital Sunday,
December 31, 2017 in Vero Beach, Florida, after a long illness. Joseph was born May 23, 1932 to John and Anna Galante in New York City. On October 20, 1956 he married Nancy Morell in Brooklyn, New York. They lived in Milton, New York, where they had 5 Children: Anne (Bruce Gepfert), Joan (John Rywalt), Linda (Joe Bierniak), Diane, and John (Regina).
Joseph retired from Virtis Corporation after 35 years. Joe and Nancy relocated to Fort Pierce, Florida in 1996. Joe enjoyed shooting, hunting, fishing, building things, trains, his grandchildren, photography, golf, and being a U.S. Marine.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years Nancy; their 5 children and 9 grandchildren Issabelle, Jackson, Jamie, Joey, Jillian, Joe, Nick, Casey and Joe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Gasper, his sister Josephine Leccese, and his brother-in-law and best man Anthony Leccese.
Services: A Mass will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, Fort Pierce.
