Mr. Murphy was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Port St. Lucie in 2014 coming from Oldsmar, Florida.
He loved jazz music and the arts and gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Katherine Murphy of Fort Pierce, FL; children, Maureen Mammano of Fort Pierce, FL, Michael Murphy of Manahawkin, NJ, Kevin Murphy of Old Bridge, NJ and Edward Murphy of Olathe, KS; sisters, Eileen McCarthy of Long Beach, NY, Dolores Jones of E. Stroudsburg, PA and Geraldine Murphy of Safety Harbor, FL; grandchildren, Albert, Lauren, Cassie, Jacqueline, Ryan, Jillian Briana; great-grandchildren, Brielle, Lillie and Aliesa. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Maureen, William, Edward, and Beth Ann.
