Joshua “Josh” John Sorgie, of Port Saint Lucie, FL, passed away on the evening of May 24, 2015 as a result of injuries in a motorcycle accident off the 200 block of SW Kestor Drive in Port Saint Lucie, FL. Josh was 23 years old.
Josh was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in West Palm Beach, FL on July 18, 1991 to Nakia Sorgie of Sebastian, FL and Amy Peterson of Stuart, FL.
Josh was a little spitfire who adored his little sister. He had a passion for life and was always out playing with friends. He was a phenomenal drummer who won best drum solo state champion at 9 years old and loved anything with a fast motor from dirt bikes to remote control cars. He loved spending his time with friends and family and would give you the shirt off his back if you asked for it.
Josh found his true love in the summer of 2011 and they were inseparable ever since. They created their beautiful baby girl, Lilliana Jean, in 2013 who had daddy’s heart wrapped around her little finger from the moment he laid eyes on her. Josh was a hard worker who dedicated himself to his family and loved them more than life itself. His girls were his world.
Josh will be greatly missed by everyone that ever knew him. He was the kind of young man that anyone would be proud to call son, grandson, great grandson and most of all a friend. He had a zest for life like no other.
Josh was survived by; fiancé, Kristine Weidner, daughter, Lilliana Sorgie, mother, Amy Peterson, father and step-mother, Nakia and Michelle Sorgie, Nana, Jeri Sorgie, sister, Xiola Sorgie, Nicole Frabosilio, great-grandparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and many many friends.
Josh’s funeral will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service, 3015 Okeechobee Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34947. Viewing will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 pm with a service
following at 4:00 pm. There will be a gathering to celebrate his life at his mother, Amy Peterson’s, home at 5478 SE 51st Drive Stuart, FL 34997 after the services.
