It is with great sadness that the family of Joyce Ann (Hishon) Axell announce her passing. Joyce was surrounded by her adoring family and passed away peacefully on July 11, 2021, at the age of 74 at Traditions Hospital in Port St Lucie, FL. Joyce was born on August 26, 1946, in Kitchener, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada to the late Harold Wilfred & Rheta Joan Hishon.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, William “Charlie” Axell of Port St. Lucie, FL. Joyce is the love of Charlie’s life. Their collaborative and caring relationship was based on mutual support and a deep love for each other. Joyce is the beloved mother of Kimberly Ann (Axell) Davis and her husband TJ Davis of Port St. Lucie, FL. She is the devoted Gigi (grandmother) of Madison Denise Davis of Port St. Lucie, FL and Elisabeth Ivy Davis of St. Petersburg, FL. Joyce was blessed with a large family and was preceded in death by her brother Glen Patrick Hishon. She is treasured by her surviving siblings, Robert Harold Hishon of Atlanta, GA; James John Hishon (Dorothy Scopelitis) of Okeechobee, FL; Mary Catherine Forte of Tallahassee, FL ; Harold Joseph Hishon (Theresa) of Tamarac, FL; Joan Rheta Vinas (Art Quinn) of Vero Beach, FL; Marjorie Theresa (Craig) Etts of Plantation, FL. Joyce will be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. She was the person who was always there for you whenever or however you needed her.
Joyce’s greatest love was her family. Her passion was spending time with her family, and she especially enjoyed watching her granddaughter play softball. Joyce was an avid golfer appreciating golf as a sport she could do with her family. Joyce enjoyed a 30-year career with American Express Travel Related Services where she held several key positions and left her legacy as a strong and well respected leader as she treasured making a difference in the lives of people and accomplishing business goals.
A Mass in honor of Joyce will be held on July 26, 2021, at 11 AM at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church; 930 SW Tunis Ave, Port St. Lucie, FL followed by a Celebration of Life at Traditions Hall; 10799 SW Civic Lane, Port St. Lucie, FL.
