Joyce Myers age 88 years, a deeply loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, and friend passed away on January 24, 2025 in Port Saint Lucie, Florida.
Joyce was born on May 9, 1936 in Wyandotte, Michigan. She married Newton (Red) Myers on September 25, 1954, and they enjoyed almost 69 years together before his passing on August 8, 2023. Joyce and Red raised two children Jeanette Myers, predeceased and Paul Myers, her surviving son. Joyce’s greatest legacy will always be her arts and crafts. Over the years she taught ceramics and after settling in Fort Lauderdale, she and her husband opened a business where she taught porcelain doll making for 12 years.
In 2000, Joyce and her husband moved to Port Saint Lucie and for almost 20 years Joyce belonged to The Painters of the Treasure Coast. While a beautiful painter, Joyce’s first passion was always sewing and until recently she was an avid quilter blessing many with her quilts, table runners and other items all made with that special person in mind. Joyce was active in St. Bernadette Church, where she taught religious education, sang in the choir, served in Martha's Hands ministry and cleaned altar linens. Joyce will always be remembered as a generous, giving, and loving person.
Joyce is survived by her son Paul Myers. She also leaves a daughter-in-law, Lisa Myers, her two children, Bret Speicher and Nicole Linsenbigler, their children, Zachary and Holly; her sister, Joan Podsaid and her husband, William; her sister, Marjorie Humphrey, and her brother, Robert Humphrey and his wife, Sandra.
