Juan Onelio Hernandez, 96, passed away on April 10, 2016 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
He was born in Havana, Cuba and moved to Port Saint Lucie, FL two years ago after being in Queens, New York since 1995. He worked for insurance company in the Dominican Republic for 24 years, LA Americana and Seguros America. He was a diehard Yankee fan and Republican. He loved to dance and most of all sing. He was the “greatest tango singer after Carlos Gardel” as most of his friends would say. He was a loving father, wonderful husband and a great human being. It was a true honor for all that got to know him. Most of all he was a true gentleman.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ana Hernandez of Port Saint Lucie, FL; daughter, Widy Hernandez of Havana, Cuba; son, Pablo O. Hernandez of Havana, Cuba; daughters, Carmen Nunez of Port Saint Lucie, FL; Sandra Cruz of Port Saint Lucie, FL; sons, Luiz Hernandez of New York; Jose Hernandez of Maryland; daughter, Carolina Hernandez of Maryland; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister, along with his mother and father.
Services: Visitation will be held Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 5-8 PM with a Wake Service at 6:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Port St. Lucie, FL. The service will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2330 SE Mariposa Ave, Port St. Lucie, FL on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 12:00 PM.
