Juana D. Montenegro, 81, of Ft. Pierce, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017, at the Treasure Coast Hospice House, Ft. Pierce.
She was born July 12, 1935, in Guanabacoa, Cuba, the daughter of the late Pedro Vento and Adolfina Vazquez. She came to the United States in 1968, settling in New York City. She was a long time resident of the Bronx, NY, moving to Ft. Pierce in 1990.
Juana was the wife of 42 years of the late Eduardo Montenegro, who died in 1996, and is survived by a son, Eduardo Montenegro and his wife Miriam of Port St. Lucie; a daughter, Daisy Lucci and her husband Thomas of Debary, FL; grandchildren, Eddie Montenegro of Brookhaven, NY, Anthony Fazio of Jacksonville, FL, Jessica Skapetis of Green Cove Springs, FL and Alissa Fazio of Jacksonville, FL; great grandchildren, Adelynn Fazio of Jacksonville and Aurora Skapetis of Green Cove Springs; a brother, Carlos "Chino" Vento of Regla, Cuba; several nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives are invited to visitation on Saturday, April 29, 2017 in the chapel of the Haisley Funeral Home, 3015 Okeechobee Rd., Ft. Pierce, from 11 am to noon, with a service following in the chapel at noon. Burial will follow in White City Cemetery.
