Julian D. Smith Sr., 79, died March 27th at St. Lucie Medical Center in PSL. He was born in Stuart, Fl. and was a life time resident of Fort Pierce. Julian attended Fort Pierce High School and served in the U.S. Air Force as a Sergeant and Radar Instructor.
Mr. Smith worked for the F.E.C. Railroad as a Yard Master Clerk. He retired as a Master Electrician and was with IBEW for 40 years. In 1980, Julian established Loving Care Child Development Center. Julian was a deacon at Fairlawn, Parkview, and First Baptist Church of PSL. Mr. Smith was an accomplished artist who contributed several of his works to benefit churches and prison ministries. He received his ministry degree from North Florida Baptist Theological Seminary was an Elder of Renewed Hope Ministries. Julian was a member at Southside Baptist Church in Fort Pierce.
Julian was the beloved husband of 57 years to Ruth Hoffmeister Smith; beloved father to sons Julian David Smith Jr. of Anchorage, Ak. and Paul Smith (Joy), daughters Debra Thompson(David), Mary Logsdon(Tommy), and Martha Gates(Roger) all of Ft. Pierce; brother of William L. Smith and James C. Smith; grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

SERVICES: Visitation will be from 1-3 pm, April 4th at Southside Baptist Church on Weatherbee Rd. in Fort Pierce. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3pm.
