Katherine L. (Gaspar) Reiss of Port St. Lucie, FL and formerly of Surry and Ellsworth passed away on March 1, 2022 in Fort Pierce, Florida after a period of declining health.
Kathy was born in Blue Hill, ME on March 23, 1953 the eldest child of Ronald H. Gaspar and Maple A. (Flanders Gaspar) Conary. She graduated from Ellsworth High School in June 1971. She worked several jobs in the Ellsworth area including waitressing and the meat dept. of IGA.
In 1990 she moved to Florida with her then husband, Kenn Reiss, and their son. For almost twenty years she worked at Tree House Daycare in Port St. Lucie.
Kathy was predeceased by her father, her mother, and stepfather. She is survived by her daughter, Tricia Trombley of Falmouth, her son, William “BJ” Reiss of Port St. Lucie, FL with whom she lived and was cared for by. She is also survived by her two grandchildren Liana and Zachary of Falmouth; her brothers, William (Angel) Gaspar, James (Diane) Gaspar, Richard (Jill) Gaspar, Sr. all of Orland and her sister, Cindy (David) Carney of Ellsworth as well as loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was our “Chatty Kathy” and will be missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
