Kathleen Elizabeth (Leirer) Muller, age 91, peacefully passed away on April 2, 2024, and joined her beloved husband, George, and son, Mark, in Heaven.
Kathleen is survived by her five children – Kathy (Pete), George, William (Melinda), Paul, and Matt (Cindy) as well as her grandchildren – Philip (Caroline), Meredith (Travis), Elizabeth, Michael, Maxwell (Megan), Matthew, Luke (Kacy), Lucy, Nicolas, Anneliese, Jack, Benjamin, Herman Marco and great grandchildren – Charlize, Juniper and Dominic.
Affectionately known as Nanny, she was born to Abraham and Catherine Leirer on July 7, 1932, and grew up with her brother, Joe (Dolores) Leirer in Mayfair, Philadelphia, PA. On May 1, 1954, Kathleen married George Muller thus beginning an inspiring legacy filled with their three well known pillars: Love, Trust, and Respect. The strong matriarch that she was, Kathleen held great pride in knowing her family’s achievements and endeavors. Kathleen received her associate degree from Gwynedd Mercy University with a certificate in gerontology. Kathleen was known to express how proud she was of her grandchildren, reciting their latest milestones and adventures similar to performing the news. Kathleen was the breath that brought social occasions to life. She was a devout leader within the Catholic Church and for many years held a strong presence with the Palm Beach Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (CCW), the North Deanery CCW, and the St. Helen’s CCW. Her fellow members knew her as a welcoming and encouraging mentor. Kathleen’s devotion to the Catholic Church led her all the way to the State’s capital, year after year, serving as a group leader for Catholic Days at the Capitol. She excitedly met with lawmakers and passionately advocated for her beliefs while serving her civic duty.
Throughout her life, Kathleen was an inspiration to her extended family, fellow church members, and her “sorority sisters” to enjoy their passions and seek out life’s greatest adventures. Her most significant legacy of all is the core family values she and her late husband, George, have created and passed down to generations of Mullers.
A celebration of life Mass service will be held at Saint Helen's Catholic Church (Vero Beach) on May 31st at 12:00 pm. Kathleen will be laid to rest beside her husband and son at Riverview Memorial Park in Fort Pierce. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St Helen's CCW in honor of Kathleen Muller.
