Kathlene “Kathy” Ann Sanders, 72, of Palm City, Florida lost her battle against the ongoing symptoms from multiple strokes and diabetes on February 28th, 2022.
Kathy was born June 21, 1949 in Michigan to Dale and Blanche Sanders. She was an Alumni of Midland Public Schools and would return there during her adult career as the district’s Food Service Manager for several years until retirement. She was very proud to be a resident of Midland, and enjoyed Dow Gardens, Midland Center for the Arts, the Tridge, and Chippewa Nature Center. Kathy was also very passionate about animals and animal rescue, especially for canines. During Kathy’s lifetime, she rescued multiple dogs who then quickly became a permanent member of her family. She took very good care of her animals and provided them the perfect “furever" home by keeping up with their vet visits, medications, and spay/neuter where applicable. She also assisted helping to place strays that she found in her local community, with homes that were looking for new pets.
Kathy’s gigantic heart and love for dogs was also instilled into her only child, her daughter Wenona. Both Kathy and Wenona have always been involved with their local animal rescues; donating, as well as participating in local events to support nonprofit organizations.
In lieu of sending flowers or cards for the celebration of life ceremony, the family has set up a fund with “The Farm Dog Rescue” (

) in Palm City, FL, specifically to help offset costs of spaying and neutering dogs that come into the program who are then placed with foster families until permanent adoption takes place. “The Kathy Sanders Spay & Rescue Fund” at

She will also be missed by additional family members, friends, and her Beloved Canine, Missy and her Kitties Moe & Rusty who now reside with loving new owners in Michigan.
