Kenneth R. Dunnivant

Kenneth R. Dunnivant, 87, passed away on November 9, 2018. He was born June 19, 1931 in Oak Park, Illinois to Jean Dunnivant and Grace Picha Dunnivant. He graduated from York High School in Elmhurst, Illinois and went on to the University of Illinois where in 1952 he graduated with a Degree in Marketing. After graduation he enlisted in the Marines and served as a First Lieutenant in the Korean War. On December 27,1952 he married his wife Barbara Bassie Dunnivant. After discharge he joined the Ford Motor Co. where he worked for several years.

In 1958 they moved to Cincinnati where he began a 32 year career with Procter and Gamble as a Purchasing Manager. Ken earned his Masters in Business Administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati in 1961. He traveled the world buying Commodities for its food division. During the Cincinnati years Ken was an active member of the University Club, Cincinnati Athletic Club, and Messiah Lutheran Church.

He retired from P&G in 1990. That same year he and Barb moved full time to Ft. Pierce, Florida where they have enjoyed their active life at Ocean Village with their many close friends. His hobbies included biking, hiking, tennis, and fishing. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Pelican Yacht Club and The Fort Pierce Elks club. He enjoyed tutoring the local children in Math and Reading.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Carol. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Barbara Dunnivant, his children Bryan Dunnivant (Jane) of Indianapolis and Gail Griffey (Bob) of Tampa Florida his grandchildren Eric Dunnivant (Katie), Lisa Dunnivant, Greg Griffey and Corey Griffey and 1 great granddaughter Isabella Griffey.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Pierce, Florida on Saturday December 8th at 11:30.
