In Loving Memory of Kevin J. McLoughlin

Kevin J. McLoughlin, born on March 31, 1940, in Brooklyn, NY, passed away on January 21, 2025. Kevin was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Mary Gorham McLoughlin, his sister Jean McLoughlin, and his parents Margaret Normile McLoughlin and Edward McLoughlin.

Kevin is survived by his children: Kevin McLoughlin, Michael (Lisa) McLoughlin, Kerry (Dave) McLoughlin-Volz, and Ann Marie (Peter) Miserocchi; his siblings: Edward (Terry) McLoughlin, Peggy Hardiman, and Peter (Beth) McLoughlin. Kevin was also a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren (Kevin, Sarah, Grace, Jeff, Ricky, Ella, James, Mason, Hope, Flynn, and Ben) and 4 great-grandchildren.

Kevin grew up in the Park Slope area of Brooklyn, NY. He attended St. Saviour’s Catholic School and graduated high school from Brooklyn Prep (a Jesuit High School) in 1958. After receiving degrees in political science and history from LeMoyne College (a Jesuit college) in Syracuse, NY, Kevin began his career in real estate with Partridge Realty in Brooklyn, NY, where he rose to the position of Vice President. Kevin also served as an officer in the Army National Guard. In 1969, Kevin relocated his family to Fort Pierce, FL and worked with various real estate firms, including Jernigan, Town & Country (which he co-founded), Hoyt C. Murphy (where he served as Vice Chairman of the board), Thomas J. White Realty and Kevin J. McLoughlin Realty. He also shared his expertise by teaching real estate classes at Indian River State College.

A devout Catholic, Kevin was a founding member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church. He served his parish in numerous capacities, including as a lector, commentator, Eucharistic minister, and was a regular presence at daily mass. He was a living testament to St. Mark’s motto that “there are no strangers here, only friends we haven’t met.” Kevin was a past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus #3416 and was deeply committed to his faith and community. 

Kevin McLoughlin will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his faith, his profession and his community. Whether he was visiting the sick, offering a friend a ride, supporting others through recovery, or simply grocery shopping, he had a positive influence on all those around him with his beaming smile and ability to make others feel at ease. He was happiest when serving others, always offering a helping hand or encouraging words. His life was a testament to hard work, loyalty, and service. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 1924 Zephyr Avenue, Fort Pierce, FL at 10am on February 13th, 2025. A reception will immediately follow in the social hall.
