Larry “Big Yarb” Yarborough, 70, died November 19, 2019 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Yarborough was born in Georgetown, South Carolina and moved to Fort Pierce over 40 years ago.
For over 20 years, Larry was in the golf course construction industry. In his early years, he was a commercial fisherman in Georgetown and he also operated heavy equipment for marine dredging. His family was the most important thing to him and second was building his truck. He loved watching his grandkids play sports, loved being outdoors and of course making people laugh by telling his jokes. He also loved Azaleas and Hibiscus, especially when they bloomed.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Robbie Yarborough of Fort Pierce, FL; daughter, Boo Scharfschwerdt of Pigeon Forge, TN; sons, L. Wade (Beth) Yarborough of Fort Pierce, FL and Preston (Melissa) Yarborough of Port St. Lucie, FL; sisters, Linda (David) Gibbons of Fort Pierce, FL and Gail Beville of Fort Pierce, FL; mother-in-law, Berta F. Blanton; granddaughters, Kaily Yarborough and Savannah Yarborough; grandsons, Stephen Scharfschwerdt, Preston, Jr., Dayton, Bryton, and Braxton Yarborough; great-grandson, Carson Wade Brewer; many nieces and nephews, and Jonah & Mac Yarborough. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jr. Yarborough, Donald Wayne Yarborough and Charlie Yarborough.
Services: A service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 5:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.
