Lee S. Edwards, Jr., 81, died November 11, 2009, in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Lee was born in Detroit, Michigan, and was a resident of Fort Pierce, Fl, coming from Springville, NY.
He was the owner-operator of a civil engineer company, a graduate of Michigan State University, served as a Bay County Road Commissioner in Michigan, was past president of the hospital board of Bertrand Chaffee Hospital in NY and enjoyed fishing.
Memorial contributions may be made in Lee’s name to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 S.E. Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997 or Bertrand Chaffee Hospital in Springville, NY.
Survivors include his wife of 59 ½ years, Carol Anne Edwards; daughters, Barbara Edwards of Erie, PA, Gail (Don) Ploetz of East Otto, NY, Nancy (Scott) Hammerton of Penfield, NY and Janet (Rick) Gaskin of Angola, NY; sister, Elaine Breeding of Sykesville, MD and 10 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Lee and Eugenia Edwards, brother Eugene and grandson Nolan Ploetz.
A Private Burial will be held at Rosehill Cemetery in Michigan at a later date. Local arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service.
