Lela B. Garrett, 89, died June 3, 2011 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Lela was born in Hillsboro, Illinois, and was a resident of Fort Pierce since July of 1944, coming from Madison, WI.
She was a homemaker, a member of and active in the Community United Methodist Church of Fort Pierce since 1950, graduated from Beauty College in 1940 and worked several years, part-time for Cobb & Brown Plumbing in Fort Pierce.
Survivors include her son, Larry (Bonny) Garrett of Blairsville, GA; brother, Henry Barry of Tacoma, WA; 1 grandchild and 3 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made in Lela’s memory to: Waveland Church c/o Lenny Kurfiss, 332 Barry Hope Trail, Hillsboro, Illinois 62049.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 7th from 4 to 6:00 PM, followed by a Service at 6:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home Chapel. A Graveside Service and burial will take place at a later date at Waveland Cemetery, Hillsboro, Illinois. Local arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service.
