LEO MARYJO BLANTON
Leo MaryJo Blanton, 95, passed away on September 21, 2022 in Vero Beach, Florida.
She was born in Eclectic, Alabama on July 1, 1927, daughter of Henry and Lillian Barron. She is predeceased by her parents as well as her siblings Ralph Barron, Nell Gaither, Reba Reader, and Billy Dove Harper. Also, she is predeceased by her son, Bruce Alan Blanton.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Luther Blanton, whom she married upon his return from service in Europe after WWII and with whom she was married for 76 years. Also, she is survived by their children Edward “Sonny” Blanton (Rusty Lynn), Robin Blanton (Travis), and Elaine Goldberg (Michael).
She is survived by four grandchildren: Aaron Goldberg, Reed Goldberg, Tripp Ruding, and Caroline Blanton McGuire. She is survived by eight great grandchildren: Ruby Goldberg, Jack Goldberg, Dash Goldberg, Louis Goldberg, Denley McGuire, Laine McGuire, Jack Lambert, and Beau Lambert.
Throughout her adult life, Leo was an active and vibrant member of Westside Church in Fort Pierce, Florida where she once served as church secretary. Leo retired from Gulf Western, where she enjoyed many years as a loyal administrative assistant to Dale Sorensen. After her retirement, she remained very active with her family as well as her beloved and extended Westside Church family.
Leo had a remarkable and engaging ability to love others by sharing her joys of faith in Christ as well as her capable skills at baking and gardening.
In lieu of flowers, Leo requested that contributions be made to your charity of choice.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM at Haisley Funeral Home, 3015 Okeechobee Road, Fort Pierce, Florida 34947 with Rev. Dale Ingersoll officiating.
