Leonard Lee Crawford, 55, of Port St. Lucie, passed away suddenly on Monday, February 20, 2023. 
Leonard was born on January 06, 1968, in West Palm Beach, FL to William and Sandy (Savage) Crawford. He attended school in Palm Beach County and graduated from Forest Hill High School in 1986.

After graduating, Leonard enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served with distinction for five years, achieving the rank of sergeant. After separating from the Marine Corps, Sergeant Crawford enlisted in the United States Army for approximately two years, which included a 13-month deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. After completing his military service, Leonard again accepted the call of service and joined the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office on July 17th, 2006. Over the course of the next 16 years, Deputy Sheriff Crawford distinguished himself as an exemplary law enforcement officer, serving in the road patrol division and street crimes unit of District 1. Deputy Crawford received a host of commendations during his tenure including being selected as Deputy of the Year. He was widely respected by his peers and supervisors for his professionalism and tireless work ethic.


Leonard is survived by his devoted wife, Stefanie Bruce Crawford, and stepson Robert Bruce. He is also survived by his mother, Sandy Savage, siblings William (Tammie) Crawford, Rabecca (Richie) Breines, Angel (Kevin) Piper and Nick (Elaine) Crawford, as well as 13 nieces and nephews. Also left to cherish his memory are a host of colleagues, military comrades, extended family members and friends. Leonard was predeceased by his father, William Jack Crawford.


In honor of Leonard’s service to community and country (and in lieu of flowers), contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and/or the American Heart Association.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 from 10:30AM to 11AM with a Service to begin at 11AM at the Christ Fellowship Church Royal Palm Beach 9905 Southern Blvd, Royal Palm Beach, FL  33411. Leonard will be inurned at South Florida VA National Cemetery Lake Worth, FL on Monday, March 6, 2023 at 1PM.
