LeRoy George Currie, 65, died September 3, 2010 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Currie was born in Detroit, Michigan and moved to St. Lucie County 30 years ago.
Prior to retirement he was a fire chief. He was a member of the American Legion, Elks, and an umpire and former director of the Port St. Lucie Athletic Association.
Survivors include his wife, Betsysusan Currie of Port St. Lucie, FL; sons, Bryan Currie of Port St. Lucie, FL, Bryce Currie of Stuart, FL, Richard Currie of Port St. Lucie, FL, Jamie Currie of Port St. Lucie, FL and Thomas Hayes IV of Port St. Lucie, FL; daughters, Cyndi Hurst of Fort Pierce, FL and Kathryn Hice of Pennsylvania; and 13 grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hatchbend Apostolic Church Building Fund, 503 SE Cephas Liston Road, Branford, FL 32008.
Services: A memorial service will be held at the Calvery Chapel of Port St. Lucie on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 4:30 PM.
