Leslie H. Adams
Leslie H. Adams, 85, died September 22, 2021, in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Leslie was born September 5, 1936, and lived in Clearfield, Utah until he joined the Navy in 1954. In 1990, Leslie married his wife of 31 years in Norwich, CT.
Leslie was survived by his wife, Beverly Adams of Fort Pierce, Florida; son, Eugene Adams of Georgia; son, Jeffrey (Karen) Adams of Florida; granddaughters, Jalina and Kaylee Adams of Connecticut; granddaughter, Christina (David) Baker of Maryland; grandchildren, Bryan Adams of Florida; great grandson, Derryck and Noelle Adams of Florida; step-daughter, Kathleen McCarthy of Elizabeth, CO; step-daughter, Marilyn (Bryan) Griffin of Hammondsport, NY; step-son, James McCarthy of Bayfield, CO; step-son, John McCarthy of Dunmore, PA; step-son, Michael McCarthy of Coral Springs, FL; step-granddaughter, Julie McCarthy of South Dakota; step-grandson, Matthew McCarthy of Connecticut; and step-granddaughter, Heather McCarthy of California.
Leslie enlisted in the Navy in 1954 and retired with 20 years of service as a Machinery Repairman First class. During the Vietnam conflict, he was deployed to Guam, repairing ships for redeployment. Leslie also fought in the Vietnam war on a ship in the Mekong Delta and was awarded two Vietnam medals. He also served in the US, stationed in New London/Groton, CT and Norfolk, VA.
Leslie was a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, and the Fleet Reserve Association. He was very social, entertaining family, friends, and even strangers. He enjoyed square dancing, RVing, reading western novels, and spending time with his wife and family.
Services: A gathering will be held on Wednesday, September 29th, 2021, at 2:30 pm with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 pm at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce, FL.
