Lester C. Heyer, 94, of Port St. Lucie, Florida passed away March 21, 2022. Lester was born October 12, 1927 in Higginsville, Mo to Christopher and Mathilda (Fischer) Heyer. Lester grew up on a dairy farm, before joining the United States Navy. During his time with the Navy, he was stationed on the Navy Oiler, the USS Aucilla, as a Fireman First Class. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal. Lester was proud to serve his country overseas and always spoke fondly of his time in the Philippines.
After leaving the Navy, he owned several gas stations and a restaurant in his hometown of Higginsville. He moved to Florida in 1964 and worked at Pratt Whitney Aircraft for 12 years. He was also very involved in Church Ministry, even holding the position of Elder for many years. Lester was always ready to help others and share the love he had for his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Lester loved his family, and his favorite activity was spending time with them. He was an avid Skip-Bo Champion. He was also passionate about gardening and loved growing roses.
Survivors include 9 children; Nanette Heyer, David Heyer, Randy Heyer, Norma (Bo) Ashburn, Michael Dragon, Patricia Heyer, Teresa Ramirez, Andrea (Jim) Bradley, and Paul (Chamie) Heyer; 14 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded by his loving wife, Gladys in 2009; parents, Christopher and Mathilda, as well as his 7 siblings.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held in his honor on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 2PM at Haisley Funeral and Cremation Services Tribute Center 2041 SW Bayshore Blvd Port St. Lucie, FL 34984.
