Lillian “Bitsy” Henshall Mathis, 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 28, 2020 in Fort Pierce, FL.
She was born in LaGrange, GA to Edgar and Lillian Henshall on October 17, 1928.
She was married to Robert Lloyd Mathis II "Bob" for 12 wonderful years. Then, after his passing, Bitsy kept her promise to Bob and moved her family to Palm Beach County, FL. She moved to Port Saint Lucie, FL in 2002 which became her forever home.
Bitsy is survived by her daughters, Melissa Mathis Medina (Juan) and Priscilla Mathis Johnson (Scott); granddaughters, Jordan Lynn and Logan Nichol Johnson; and several loving extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Lloyd Mathis II "Bob"; her older brothers Edgar Henshall, Donald Henshall, and George Henshall.
She was employed with Southern Bell for 17 years and was the owner of "The Snooty Fox" dress boutique for 8 years. Bitsy was a member of the Red Hats Society and The Newcomers Welcoming Committee. She enjoyed assisting all events for the associations that she was part of.
Bitsy loved to go shopping and out to lunch with her girls and friends; she was a social butterfly. She was an avid artist and loved to draw and write. She especially loved keeping in communication with her family and friends via Facebook. Mostly, Bitsy loved being around her family. She was a wonderful, elegant, kind, and loving lady and will be greatly missed.
